Our philosophy: nurturing the whole child
At Hands On: Homestead Learning Community, we believe in a holistic approach to education. Discover how our unique philosophy fosters independence, practical skills, and a deep love for learning.

Our core beliefs in education
We believe in nurturing the whole child through an engaging Charlotte Mason-style, hands-on, unit study approach. The first half of the day focuses on math and language arts through individualized learning plans for each student. The second half of the day immerses students in unit studies, naturally covering history and science through the finest children's literature, weaving in engaging topics and projects.

Learning by doing: fostering independence
Our students learn by actually completing projects that teach them important life skills. This hands-on approach fosters independence and the practical application of what they learn, making education meaningful and memorable. Imagine gardening, cooking, animal science, woodworking, and more coming alive in their hands.

What sets us apart: unique skills and collaboration
Beyond traditional academics, we offer social-emotional collaborative learning. Our projects include unique skills such as goat's milk soap making, candle making, egg incubation, animal care, and much more. These experiences cultivate teamwork, empathy, and a diverse skill set for life.
"Hands On: Homestead Learning Community has transformed how my child learns. The practical skills and collaborative environment are truly exceptional."
